Plot- Chippendales, which debuted its inaugural show starring male strippers in 1979, became an instant hit, with lines around the block. Chippendales creator Steve Banerjee saw the show’s potential right away and enlisted Emmy-winning TV producer and choreographer Nick De Noia to help him develop.
When Banerjee signed an ill-advised contract on the back of a napkin giving De Noia rights to the show’s traveling productions, the two men were put on a collision course that would destroy the multi-million-dollar company and eventually cost De Noia his life. Banerjee’s ambition for power, on the other hand, did not end with De Noia’s death.
The FBI was confronted with trying to bring Banerjee to justice after competing nightclubs were set on fire and two ex-Chippendales employees were attempted murders. They started on a sting operation that covered two countries.
Former Chippendales dancers, producers, investigators, and family members such as Eddy Prevot, Hodari Sababu, Mike Waldron, Eric Gilbert, Christian Banerjee, and Tom and Cathy DeNoia tell their stories about what it was like to be a part of the phenomenon and the heartbreak they experienced when it all came crashing down. For the first time, viewers will hear an exclusive interview with hitman Louie Lopez’s defense attorney, Frank Rothman, who will give a thorough account of the killer’s reasoning up until the moment he squeezed the gun.
Exclusive interviews with former Chippendales’ associate Jay D. Schwartz, Banerjee’s best friend Howard Metz, DeNoia’s secret lover David Arad, and Arad’s ex-boyfriend David Shrem, who were mistakenly caught up in the hunt for DeNoia’s killer, are included.
Big Fish Entertainment, an MGM company, is producing “Secrets of the Chippendales Murders” for A&E Network.
