The Hyperions which cast Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), tells the story of Professor Ruckus Mandelbaum, who invented the Titan badge device in 1960, giving people superpowers.
The brilliant professor transformed three scruffy teenagers into the Hyperions, a strange superhero family. The quintet quickly became a worldwide sensation. However, the group fell out over time, and Professor Ruckus replaced the three original Hyperions with a new group of teenagers.
By 1979, two Hyperions were desperate to reclaim their Titan badges and went to considerable measures to do so, including plundering the professor’s exhibit and accidentally abducting a few hostages in the process.
Penelope Mitchell (Hellboy), Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai), Elaine Tan (Tully), and Alphonso McAuley (Walk of Shame) are among the cast in this series.
Jon McDonald (Muddy Corman) wrote, produced, and directed the film under his American Millimetre label. The film was also produced by Justin Bell of Justin Bell Productions and Jon Michael Kondrath of ReKon Productions. We understand the film took three years to complete post-production, but we don’t know why.
International sales are handled by Archstone Entertainment. Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend negotiated the deal on behalf of The Daily Wire.
The Hyperions, a screwball indie comedy, is an interesting departure in terms of style and content for the new media organization. The Hyperions is the company’s fourth film announcement in the last 13 months. Kyle Rankin’s Venice Film Festival drama Run Hide Fight was the service’s first purchase.
