The film “The Sea of Tranquility”, which Choi Hang-short yong created and directed in 2014, is the inspiration for the series. Choi Hang-yong will also helm the series.
Cast:
- Gong Yoo plays Han Yoon-jae, the head of an exploratory team tasked with completing a critical mission with insufficient knowledge. He prioritises the safety of his teammates above all else, even if it means placing himself in danger.
- Doctor Song Ji-an, played by Bae Doona, is an astrobiologist who joins the team, desperate to learn the truth about an accident at the now-decommissioned Balhae Base research station on the moon.
- Captain Ryoo Tae-seok, head engineer, played by Lee Joon, was an elite member of the Ministry of National Defense who volunteered for this perilous assignment in order to leave the Ministry’s suffocating environment.

- Heo Sung-tae in his role as Kim Jae-sun, chief of the Aviation Administration’s Resource Group.
- Gong Soo-hyuk, the chief of the security squad, is played by Lee Moo-saeng.
Plot Summary: Space explorers attempt to gather samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets during a risky 24-hour mission on the moon. It takes place in the future, when the planet has run out of water and food due to desertification. Yoon Jae is space agency’s soldier. He is selected to go to the moon with a group that includes Ji An. A scientist volunteers for a mission to recover unique minerals from an abandoned lunar space station where everyone was killed in an accident, including her sister.
Will the series be available on Hulu?
