Halloween Kills is a slasher film directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems that will be released in 2021. The film is the twelfth episode in the Halloween franchise and is a sequel to 2018’s Halloween.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, respectively, in the film, with James Jude Courtney reprising his role as Michael Myers. The Strode women join a gang of other survivors of Michael’s previous rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands and organise a vigilante mob to track down Michael for good.
Through his Blumhouse Productions company, Jason Blum, Malek Akkad, and Bill Block serve as producers for the picture. On September 8, 2021, Halloween Kills made its global premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival.
The film will be released theatrically in the United States on October 15, 2021, by Universal Pictures, after a year of delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic; it will also be streamed for 60 days on Peacock’s paid tiers.

On July 19, 2019, a Blumhouse Productions spokesman stated that Halloween Kills and its sequel Halloween Ends will begin production and filming at the same time in Wilmington, North Carolina. Filming for the film began on September 16, 2019.

According to a filming permission filed by the city, local contractors placed hospital signage on the river-facing side of the classroom building ahead of the shooting, which was expected to include more than 300 background extras. More than 100 local crew people are also employed by the production.
