Where Was No Time To Die Filmed?

No Time to Die is an upcoming spy film from Eon Productions, and it will be the 25th in the James Bond franchise. Daniel Craig reprises his role as the fictional British MI6 agent in this fifth instalment. It will be Craig’s final Bond picture, he has stated. Cary Joji Fukunaga directs the film, which is based on a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik join the cast as new characters, while Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films.

In No Time to Die, James Bond has resigned from MI6 and is attempting to live a regular life in Jamaica, where Ian Fleming penned the first Bond novel, with his girlfriend Madeleine Swann. That is, until Bond’s old acquaintance Felix Leiter asks for help, and he is drawn back into the world of international espionage.

On a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist, he reunites with Moneypenny and Q, as well as the new 007, Nomi. When he meets Safin, a fascinating and scary villain who believes he’s noble and wields treacherous new technology, things grow a lot more dangerous.

No Time to Die filming locations

Bond, in true British fashion, sets out to discover the most beautiful and unique areas on the planet (including Scotland) and claim them as his own. Many more filming locations have leaked out from the film’s secretive production over the last year, from the worn, warm stone towns of Basilicata in Italy to the jungle-choked waterways of northern Jamaica, and many more have been featured prominently in the trailer for the upcoming franchise instalment No Time To Die.

Thus, without further ado, here are all of the Bond 25 filming locations that we know of so far. Although James Bond is proudly British, he does not limit himself to drab staycations and bland fare.

Italy: Matera, Gravina In Puglia and Sapri

Matera, a village in Basilicata that appears to be carved right into the hillside – which it is – is perhaps the most dramatic place featured in the teaser for No Time To Die. Hundreds of tiny grottoes make up the famed town, which was all but abandoned until the 1980s.

Italy Matera, Gravina In Puglia and Sapri

Unsurprisingly, most Materans chose the cave option over living in poverty in a cave, living in a house, or simply moving away.

The very first shot in the No Time To Die video is of Matera, a car pursuit that switches between images of the Basilicata town and Gravina in Puglia. The more tranquil Sapri, near Salerno in southwest Italy, isn’t shown in the trailer, but No Time To Die was apparently shot there over two days on the neighbouring Spiaggia Aell’Arco Magno beach.

    Jamaica: Port Antonio

At Ian Fleming’s Jamaica estate, Goldeneye, the initial elements of Bond 25 were released, including the casting of Lashana Lynch as 007, which prompted traditional handwringing and great, unknowing PR for the film from the right-wing press.

    Jamaica Port Antonio

Although no filming took place here, Bond’s retirement is set in Port Antonio, which is likewise on the island’s north shore but much further east. We saw a yacht heading to a waterside cabin in the trailer, which looked very similar to the one Bond sought to retire to in Skyfall.

Norway: Nittedal and The North Atlantic Road

Rami Malek’s villain chasing someone assumed to be a young Madeleine Swann across a frozen lake in one of the trailer’s most striking images. This was near Nittedal, not far from Oslo, for anyone wishing to recreate the sight.

Norway Nittedal and The North Atlantic Road

Other shots, which have yet to be revealed, were shot on the Atlantic Ocean Road, arguably one of the world’s most stunningly beautiful and nerve-wracking stretches of highway. Its causeways and arched bridges span little over eight kilometres of wild Atlantic waters, spanning a series of tiny treeless islets. If there was ever a Bond location, this is it.

    Faroe Islands: Kalsoy

    Faroe Islands Kalsoy

The tiny archipelago has broken its duck with No Time To Die, which filmed scenes on Kalsoy, according to Guide To Faroe Islands. The island is nicknamed “The Flute” because of its stunning landscape, which has 13 peaks and eleven valleys, yet only about 150 people reside there.

    London (and Pinewood Studios)

    London (and Pinewood Studios)

Bond hangs out in Whitehall, like he does in every film, and also visits Q’s mansion in No Time To Die. What else can be said about London? It’s the world’s capital, and Bond tends to stick to the renowned centre. If Bond is the ultimate ambassador for the United Kingdom, jumping into the Olympic stadium beside the Queen in front of tens of millions of people around the world, then London, more than any other destination, is what he’s promoting.
