Where Was Venom: Let There Be Carnage Filmed?

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a prospective American superhero picture starring Venom from Marvel Comics, produced by Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Marvel and Tencent Pictures. It’s the sequel of Venom, and it’ll be released by Sony Pictures Releasing (2018).

Andy Serkis directs the picture from a script by Kelly Marcel, based on a storey she co-wrote with Tom Hardy, who co-stars alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson as Eddie Brock / Venom. Brock seeks to restart his journalism career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of Carnage, an alien symbiote similar to Venom.

After being postponed from an earlier October 2020 release date owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to hit theatres on October 1, 2021 in the United States.

Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist, tries to adjust to life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, which provides him superhuman abilities in order to be a lethal vigilante, more than a year after the events of Venom. Brock tries to resurrect his career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the symbiote Carnage’s host and escapes jail following a botched execution.

Following the discovery of a host body in investigative reporter Eddie Brock, the extraterrestrial symbiote is forced to fight a new foe: Carnage, the alter ego of serial killer Cletus Kasady.

Under the working title Fillmore, principal photography began on November 15, 2019 at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England. Robert Richardson was the film’s cinematographer, returning with Serkis after their collaboration on Breathe (2017). In mid-January 2020, filming took place on the London South Bank University campus. Hardy confirmed that filming in England wrapped on February 8 and that the production would now move to San Francisco, where the movie is set.

Filming took place in numerous districts throughout the city over several weeks, including the Tenderloin, North Beach, Nob Hill, and Potrero Hill. The Anchor Brewery on Potrero Hill served as a set for a police station, while Grace Cathedral in Nob Hill was used for filming on February 20 and 21. The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District was also used for filming.

The Institution of London South Bank is a public university in Elephant and Castle, London. It is located near the South Bank of the Thames in the London Borough of Southwark. This is also where scenes were filmed.

    California, USA

Filming also took place in California, in the cities of Oakland and San Francisco. The movie is set in California, specifically San Francisco so a majority of the filming happened here.

The main locations in use were the North Beach, Portrero Hill, specifically the alcohol brewery present there and Nob Hill in which the Grace Cathedral has been featured. The San Quentin State prison also features in the movie.

San Francisco has a lengthy history as a visual mainstay in films as well as a hotbed of cinematic innovation.

This movie is highly anticipated and looked forward too after Venom (2018) was a massive box office success. Catch this one when it releases later this year.
