Will Knuckles Make An Appearance In Sonic The Hedgehog 2?

The filming for Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has begun and a leaked photo from the set reportedly confirmed the presence of Knuckles the Echidna.

The photo graced Twitter when posted by @TailsChannel and it features a trio of props that represent Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails at Fort Langley.

    The appearance of Knuckles

The characters are CGI in the final cut of the film but the props are used to give the crew and actors an idea about where the characters have to appear. The presence of Tails was teased towards the end of the first film. However, the Knuckles’ appearance has not been confirmed officially.

Unlike Tails, Knuckles was not there in the first Sonic the Hedgehog but viewers did see an Echidna tribe. Director Jeff Fowler confirmed that the characters belonged to the same species as Knuckles but a connection between the two remained unclear.

Fans are hoping for a connection between the two films, primarily due to the fact that the characters were seen driving Sonic from his place.

The Backstory of Knuckles in Saga Genesis

Knuckles made his debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994) during the Saga Genesis. He was initially an antagonistic character. He was tricked by Dr. Robotnik and made to believe that Sonic was a villain who intended to steal the Master Emerald. This gave rise to a conflict between the two titular characters. After the revelation of the truth, Knuckles went on to appear in several games as Sonic’s ally.

Paramount is yet to officially announce the appearance of Knuckles and until that happens, fans will be taking the Twitter revelation with a grain of salt. The prop could have some other explanation to it. However, that seems highly unlikely.
