A Young Morpheus Will Be Played By Yahya Abdul-Mateen II – The Matrix 4

According to a fresh report, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play a young Morpheus in The Matrix 4, but only in digital form.

Since his involvement in the upcoming sci-fi sequel The Matrix 4 was disclosed, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s role in the film has remained a secret. According to rumours, the actor will play a juvenile version of Morpheus.

While it should be remembered that this is merely a hearsay, some new information about the role of young Morpheus has surfaced. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play a younger version of Morpheus in the film, according to the source, and more precisely, a computerised version of that figure.

This begs the question of how young Morpheus fits into the picture. Could he have been inserted in the Matrix to punish Neo in some way if the character is only a digital recreation? Perhaps the plot will be a reversal of the first Matrix, with Neo attempting to release his former instructor from the machines’ grasp. It’s also likely that the younger Morpheus may appear in a flashback scene, perhaps explaining how he was initially freed from the Matrix.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point, as little about The Matrix 4’s plot has been officially divulged. However, there have been various leaks and rumours, the most current of which claims that the storey would start up 60 years after the events of 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions, and that there have been tremendous changes since we last left the Earth. Not everyone is still alive, and the “world” has changed since Neo first joined it all those years ago.

The Matrix 4 will be released by Warner Bros. and is collaboration between Village Roadshow Pictures, Wachowskis Productions, and Silver Pictures. On December 22, 2021, the film will be released in theatres. Beginning on the same date, the film will be available for a month on HBO Max in the United States.
