Chernobylite Has Now Been Pushed From Its Release Date Into Q2 Of 2021

The Sci-fi game ‘Chernobylite’ is a survival video game developed by The Farm 51 and published by All In! Games SA. As the name suggests, this game revolves around the famous nuclear plant Chernobyl, located in Pripyat in Ukrainian SSR. The Farm 51, a Polish developer, was founded in 2005 and has worked on games like ‘Deadfall Adventures’ (2013) and ‘NecroVisionN’ (2009). ‘Chernobylite’ will be available for PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S this year.

What the makers have in store for us

Set in a radioactive wasteland, the game’s objective will be for the player, who will play as a physicist, to find their significant other while battling obstacles on the way. The name of the game comes from the creatures that may be supernatural, created in the wasteland due to radiation and hence called ‘Chernobylite’. Although the game was supposed to come out sooner, developers have pushed its release date to Q2 of 2021, possibly due to COVID-19 pandemic related problems.

    Using their time wisely

However, they are using this extended time to make the gameplay experience for the players even better by hiring professional voice actors for the English and Russian voiceovers and adding more languages. This implies that the game when it comes out will be bigger than anticipated and have more features to look forward to. For these extra developments, Farm 51 used crowdfunding through Kickstarter, an American public benefit corporation, raising more than $200,000. Not only this but as a gesture of gratitude for patient fans, Chernobylite’s official YouTube page dropped a ten-minute-long video that features some of the new voiceover developments they are working on.
