    Fangoria Studios Announces Its First Film – ‘Sitora,’ A Creature Feature

    Fangoria, the horror film magazine, is branching out into filmmaking. Fangoria Studios, the company’s newly created production venture, is working on a feature-length picture called “Sitora.”

    Fangoria is a horror and genre film magazine that was created in 1979 and continues to publish quarterly. Fangoria Studios was founded in early 2021 with the goal of developing and producing films, television shows, and podcasts.

    The planned creature feature “Sitora” is based on the forgotten Malay horror film “SitoraHarimauJadian,” which tells the storey of a despotic shaman who inflates the threat of a supernatural half-man, half-tiger to maintain his feudal authority. Sir will be played by Malaysian actor Wan Hanafi Su. The film will be shot in Malaysia’s real-life villages.

    In a press statement, Fangoria Studios said that Sitora’ is a fantastic illustration of who they are.On the international scale, their objective is to honour genre cinema by offering a platform for scary stories with strong roots in culture, mythology, legends, and the macabre. They feel that horror is truly worldwide and appeals to people of all ages. Fear is a universal emotion. Everyone shouts in the same language when it comes to horror.

    “Sitora” is directed by DiffanSina Norman, a Kuala Lumpur-born and Los Angeles-based filmmaker. His work has been shown at film festivals such as Sundance, South By Southwest, and Rotterdam. Fangoria Studios will produce with Tara Ansley, Armen Aghaeian, and Abhi Goel. Circle of Confusion represents Fangoria Studios. Calvary and CAA represent Norman. The domestic sale will be represented by CAA Media Finance, which is managing the financing.

    Th new venture will definitely be interesting to watch and any added to the horror genre is always a welcome experiment if you ask us. We can’t wait to see what they come up with and if they can truly make a movie that transcends boundaries of language and culture.
