In 2014, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. took one of the most famous monsters created. They gave it their franchise starting with the film ‘Godzilla.’ This Kaiju was first brought to us in 1954 by Ishirō Honda and has since become one of the most famous pop culture icons. Directed by Gareth Edwards, ‘Godzilla’ was one of the only films to successfully start a new franchise based on Gojira that is being continued to date. The film sits at an affirmative 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and tells the story of father and son Joe and Ford who, after coming across evidence proving the existence of giant harmful creatures called MUTOs, go on a quest to save the world, and Godzilla helps.

With the newest installment of the film, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, being released on March 26th, fans binge-watched the previous ones including 2014’s ‘Godzilla,’ 2017’s ‘Kong: Skull Island,’ and 2019’s ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters.’ Meanwhile, the first film is making its way to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and Digital on March 23rd. This will allow fans to witness the King of Monsters in all his mightiness, and have some extra footage they can feast on as they wait for the upcoming film. These will include ‘Operation: Lucky Dragon,’ ‘The Godzilla Revelation,’ ‘Monarch: The M.U.T.O. file,’ ‘Millie Bobby Brown: Force of Nature.’ ‘Monsters 101,’ ‘Monster Tech: Monarch Joins the Fight’ and about five minutes of deleted scenes from the original film.

How the franchise continues to build and get better
‘Godzilla’ stars Ken Watanabe (‘Inception’), Bryan Cranston (‘Breaking Bad’), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (‘Kick-Ass’), Elizabeth Olsen (‘WandaVision’) and Sally Hawkins (‘The Shape of Water’). Although the main protagonists of the first film’s storyline did not return for ‘Godzilla 2: King of Monsters’, a new set of people, including Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler, were added now also be seen in ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. The two scientists who believed in Godzilla the most, Dr. Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins), died in the 2019 film, and it seems like it is now up to Maddy (Millie Bobby Brown) to carry that torch.
