Fiery New Mortal Kombat Trailer Has Just Released, And It Does Complete Justice To Its ‘R’ Ratings

The upcoming Mortal Kombat film is the second movie adaptation of the famous ‘Mortal Kombat’ video game series originally developed by Midway Games. The first-ever adaptation of the same was the 1995 film with the same title and directed by Paul Anderson. The most recent game release was ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ in 2019 that NetherRealm Studios developed. This film is rated ‘R’ due to heavy violence, and a trailer has just been dropped through the official Twitter handle of the film.

Everything we could capture from the trailer

As promised, the trailer has delivered and has set the bar for the film’s release. The famous Scorpion characters Raiden Kano and Sub Zero are also back, alongside a fresh protagonist named Cole Young. As these fighters get busy, the Earth’s fate now lies in their hands, and they are making sure to bloody (literally) well secure it. Although the characters remain true to who they are in the original game, in the trailer, they seem to have changed the side they will be fighting on with Sub Zero working for the bad guy Shang Tsung and Kano now being a hero. This fresh perspective could expand the storyline, opening doors for more to do with the future franchise. We even get to see Reptile, Goro and an unknown ninja-warrior in the trailer that were not revealed earlier.
