Gottmik, Finalist On “Rupaul’s Drag Race” Auditioned For The Role Of Pinhead Innew “Hellraiser” Film

David Bruckne, best known for The Night House and for directing Netflix’s The Ritual as well as segments of Bloody Disgusting’s horror anthologies V/H/S and Southbound, is relaunching the Hellraiser franchise for Spyglass Media, which will be a Hulu feature film written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.

We don’t know much about the film yet – Odessa A’zion was just cast in the lead role – but an intriguing revelation from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” finalist Gottmik this week may give us some insight into Bruckner’s idea for a revamped Pinhead.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the popular drag performer, who recently cosplayed as Pinhead on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” auditioned for the role of Pinhead in the new film.

When they saw Gottmik’s Hellraiser look, they offered him the Pinhead audition. Even though they were recorded, it wasn’t scary enough! According to Gottmik, who spoke to Entertainment Weekly. Gottmik was in their apartment, against the wall, full-on attempting to be Pinhead, pretending to rip needles from their head, just going in! It was a hysterical experience!

Gottmik went on to say that he wanted to be Pinhead more than anything in the world, but that he understood it wasn’t scary enough for him to make the cut. At the very least, he wanted to walk down the red carpet wearing that outfit! He stated he’ll make a new one and just wants to be there in the background next to Pinhead!

As you may recall, HBO Max is developing a “Hellraiser” television series, with David Gordon Green directing the pilot and “several more initial episodes” and Michael Dougherty and Mark Verheiden producing the scripts. Clive Barker will serve as the show’s executive producer.

It is going to be interesting to see how the new and improved Pinhead will look like in the new movie. If scarier is what Bruckne is going for, then we’ll definitely keep an eye out for the new look.
