If There Is A Purge 6 – Frank Grillo Will Return To The Franchise

James DeMonaco, the creator of The Purge, has teased his idea for The Purge 6, which would see Frank Grillo return to action.

The man behind The Purge franchise, James DeMonaco has given some insight into the direction of his sixth film, reveals that it will have a focus on Frank Grillo’s character. DeMonaco revealed that The Purge 6 would forcibly bring Grillo back into the fray to once again save the day amid the chaos while discussing the latest instalment in the horror series, The Forever Purge.

The Purge was released in 2013, but Grillo didn’t appear until The Purge: Anarchy was released in 2014. Grillo plays Leo Barnes, an angry LAPD sergeant who uses the laws of the Purge to track down the man who murdered his son in a drunk driving accident. Grillo’s vigilante became an instant fan favourite, and the actor reprised the part in The Purge: Election Year in 2016, in which Leo now works as the chief of security for Sen. Charlie Roan, a presidential contender determined to put an end to the yearlong custom of bloodlust once and for all.

The First Purge, a Grillo-less prequel, explains the origins of the annual Purge, a 12-hour period once a year during which all crime in America is allowed, including murder, rape, and arson. The Forever Purge, follows a group of ranchers who are forced to flee because numerous people continue to perpetrate crime after the most recent Purge night has ended.

Despite predictions that The Forever Purge would be the franchise’s final instalment, star Frank Grillo recently hinted that it might not be. In a previous interview, the actor claimed that talks on a sixth instalment are already underway, and that he would like returning to The Purge’s chaotic universe.

Although DeMonaco has hailed The Forever Purge as a “wonderful way to finish it all,” it’s unlikely that fans of the franchise would object if a sixth instalment with Frank Grillo at the helm was released. The Forever Purge was released in theatres on July 2, 2021.
