Don Mancini’s “Chucky” series is currently in production for USA and SYFY, and returning franchise actor Jennifer Tilly has taken to social media to share additional images from the set. Meet some new faces while reconnecting with some old ones!
Chucky is being billed as a “new take on the franchise” that will “explore Chucky’s persona with a depth offered only by the television series format.”
In the series, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as an antique Chucky doll pops up at a suburban yard sale, and a series of terrible killings begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the appearance of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to reveal the truth about the murders, as well as the demon doll’s secret origins as a seemingly regular boy who became this infamous monster.

Don Mancini’s Chucky is an American horror slasher film series. The films mostly follow Chucky, a famed serial murderer who repeatedly avoids death by conducting a voodoo ritual in which his soul is transferred into a “Good Guys” doll. On November 9, 1988, the original film, Child’s Play, was released. Six sequels, a potential television series, a remake, comic books, a video game, and tie-in products have all resulted from the film. The first, second, and fourth films were all movie office hits, grossing more than $182 million worldwide. The franchise has made over $250 million in revenue from sales of videos, DVDs, VOD, and merchandise.It also won a Saturn Award for Best Horror Franchise.
In February 2018, Don Mancini, the franchise’s originator, and producer David Kirschner stated that a television series was in the works. The show will follow in the footsteps of the original film series and will continue the tale.
