New Stills Released From The New ‘Wrong Turn’ Film Baffles The Audience With Its Savage Nature

Rob Schmidt directed horror slasher ‘Wrong Turn’ first came out more than fifteen years ago and has had up to six sequels follow up. Starring Eliza Dushku, this film offered more cannibalistic gore than some viewers could handle, but it did earn itself quite a reputation. This January, Constantin Film that also worked on the first ‘Wrong Turn,’ had hit the theatres with a reboot of the same for one day only. This 2021 film stars Emma Dumont, Charlotte Vega, Damien Maffei, and more talented faces. On the 23rd of February, ‘Wrong Turn’ will be available on Blu-Ray, Digital, and DVD, and as that date nears, a few stills from the film have been released to keep fans pacified.

Everything we can never unseen from these images

When the trailer for this movie dropped, fans were disappointed not to witness a lot of bloodshed and gore, which is characteristic of ‘Wrong Turn’ films. However, it seems like what was concealed away in the trailer remained in plenty in the film. The pictures that have now been released are evidence of the same as we see Damien Maffei’s character pulling off a branch from what looks like a mangled body part. Simultaneously, the piece of wood remains sticky with its blood, and Charlotte Vega’s character is holding on to another bloody piece of someone who has died while her face is splattered with blood. The other two pictures that we can see are of two characters that have been killed such gruesome deaths that it is hard to make out the actors’ faces from the stills. One of them has had their eye carved out, leaving their whole face bloody, while another has been crushed so severely between two pieces of wood that their full jaw has changed shape.

This new reboot might give the ‘Wrong Turn’ franchise the revival it needs

Of all the films in this franchise, this is the first to break away from a continuous storyline for six films. This one is a fresh take on a new story while staying true to the franchise’s gorefest. Director Mike P Nelson said that his intention with the film was to stop mindless horror and make cinema relevant to everything the world faces today and age while exploring the scariest aspect of it, the extremism of human nature.
