New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Announced For 2023!

Colin and Casey Jost are writing the script for a brand-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. Colin, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, has joined his brother Casey to work for Paramount Pictures. They are now cowriting a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. Producers include Andrew Form, Michael Bay, Scott Mednick, Brad Fuller, and Galen Walker.

At this point, no narrative specifics for the new film have been published, but we can assume it will follow Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello on a brand-new adventure. Following the news that Seth Rogen will executive produce a CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film for Nickelodeon Animation Studios, the project is thought to be a high priority for Paramount.

There’s not much else to go on with the Jost brothers’ take, but Colin Jost’s involvement could mean a focus on the comedic parts. He has been a prominent writer on Saturday Night Live since 2005 and is now one of the show’s head writers. Since 2014, he’s also been a Weekend Update co-anchor alongside Michael Che.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has seen many different adaptations over the years, on both large and small screens. Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes relaunched the brand in 2014, with a live-action version of the classic characters. Fans and critics had mixed reactions to the film, but it was a huge hit, prompting the 2016 sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. In recent years, there have been stalled attempts to make another live-action Turtles film.

The film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on the original comic book series and stars a trio of anthropomorphic turtle brothers who have been taught martial arts by their adoptive father, an anthropomorphic rat named Splinter. The swords are wielded by Leonardo, the sai pair by Raphael, the nunchucks by Michelangelo, and the bo staff by Donatello. Usually, the wicked Shredder, the head of the Foot Clan, stands in their way.

The film is set for an 11th August release in the year 2023.
