Catch A Sneak Peak Into The Gameplay Of The Medium Through Its New Trailer!

With The Medium releasing next month for PlayStation 5 users and the game taking advantage of the PS5’s DualSense, Bloober Team decided to release a trailer explaining what users can expect from the feature.

On September 3, both physically and digitally, The Medium will be released for PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series and PC versions will also have their physical copies released on the same day.

Bloober Team producer Szymon Erdmanski wrote on the PlayStation Blog that The Medium will use the PS5 capability to plunge you even deeper into the mystery of the Niwa Hotel. As Marianne explores and interacts with the game world, they want us to feel her reactions to what’s going on.

Erdmanski cites Marianne’s Shield as an example of DualSense input, in which you can practically feel spirit-world moths hitting the barrier in your hands. Another one is the Out of Body ability, which causes you to suffocate if you don’t come back. The longer you stay out of your body, the faster the controller will vibrate, indicating when it’s time to return.

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game with Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka’s original soundtrack and proprietary dual-reality gameplay.

One can explore both the physical and spiritual worlds. We have to use our psychic powers to solve puzzles that spans both realms, unearth frightening secrets, and avoid encounters with The Maw, a monster created from a terrible tragedy.

Pre-orders are also available for $49.99 USD on the PlayStation Store, with a 10% discount for PlayStation Plus users. Pre-order bonuses include a digital download of the game’s music and a digital artbook called The Art of The Medium.

The Medium is now available digitally on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and PC.

As a medium, you see, experience, and hear more than others, and with each fresh perspective, your understanding of what happened at the Niwa resort will shift.
