The film, set in 1994, will star Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback. We also know that Optimus Prime G1 will be the main character in Rise of the Beasts.

The film promises a return to the action and spectacle that initially captivated moviegoers across the world with the original Transformers 14 years ago. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will transport fans to the 1990s and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the ongoing conflict between Autobots and Decepticons on Earth.

The film will adapt stories from the Beast Wars franchise, which has spanned video games, books, an animated TV series, and comic books throughout the years, so there are plenty of options. From 1996 to 1999, the original animated series included Maximal and Predacons as the progenitors of the Autobots and Decepticons, so a hybrid cross-over for the film could be exactly what the Transformers movie franchise needs.

The film is slated to be released in theatres on June 24, 2022. Revv up your engines for a movie filled with action and your favorite machines.
